Sweet Cherry Sorbet

One of my grandmother's favorite fruit were cherries. She could wipe out a whole bag (no self control in our family) and be perfectly content. I love them as much as she did and tried to wipe out a whole bag to myself in high school and then proceeded to (what felt like to me) have a heart attack that turned out was heart burn, much to the amusement of my family and doctor handing me Maalox. Well, I learned my lesson, and now save my "no self control" for some of the foods I can handle, like a good sorbet. Cheers!

Ingredients:

1 lb pitted cherries
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 tbsp Amaretto

Directions:

1. Add your pitted cherries, sugar, and water to a blender and blend until smooth
2. Strain mixture and chill in refrigerator for 3 hours or in the freezer for 1 hour
3. Once cooled, add to you ice cream maker and freeze following manufacturer's instructions
4. At the end of the freezing process add your Amaretto
